39. The amount of refund of the insurance contribution paid for a licence bearing one or more of classes 6A, 6B and 6C but none of classes 1 to 5 is the amount obtained by adjusting, in accordance with section 45, the sum of insurance contributions for the number of months, excluding parts of months, between the date of the event that triggers a refund and the expiry date of the period during which the holder was authorized to drive. The insurance contribution for a month is calculated by applying the percentage determined under section 14 to an amount equivalent to the annual insurance contribution, set under section 12, before adjustment under section 45, according to the insurance contribution payment due year, the licence class(es) and the total number of demerit points used in calculating the insurance contribution paid.
